Welcome to the phoenix FirstClass server! This server, originally set up by the Electronic Media Research group at the Open University, has been running continuously since the summer of 1992 and is still going strong. It is the oldest server in the university, having started out on an Apple Macintosh Plus, migrating to PC in the mid nineties. In 2007 it moved onto a new machine, which is its sixth home so far. This new machine has lots more storage, which means I'm able to allow you more disk space. If you find you don't have enough please mail fc-phoenix-queries@open.ac.uk.
The server software has recently been updated to the latest version, FirstClass V9.1. You can find out what's new from here.
